Consumer Checking Account Changes

Changes to Consumer Checking – A Breakdown of the Basics

At INTRUST Bank, we understand that no one’s perfect and sometimes overdrafts happen. That’s why we supplement our checking accounts with a discretionary overdraft service called Bounce Blocker® which protects customers from the embarrassment of a declined purchase or fees associated with a returned check.

Recently, the Federal Reserve established new rules (effective July 1, 2010) that limit our ability to provide this service for one time debit card transactions and ATM transactions without a customer’s prior consent. So, rather than provide you with a chance to simply opt in, we’re also providing helpful information on preventing overdrafts from happening altogether.

It’s part of our commitment to helping our customers balance life and finances. And it’s our way of disclosing our practices upfront to ensure absolute customer trust in the services we provide. Click through the following pages to learn more about overdraft charges and what you can do to protect yourself.
