Greg Murphy leads INTRUST Wealth and Retirement, where he is responsible for the overall strategy and direction of the business while continuing to guide the division’s investment process as Chief Investment Officer. He brings more than 25 years of experience in institutional investment management, business leadership, client strategy, and team development.
Throughout his career, Greg has worked with a wide range of institutional clients, including pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, and sovereign entities. His background includes managing high-yield fixed income portfolios, serving as a partner and senior leader at investment firms, building client-facing teams, launching investment products, and representing investment firms in national and international markets. He has presented investment strategy to boards, consultants, and sophisticated investors across the country and abroad.
At INTRUST, Greg focuses on building a disciplined, client-centered approach that helps families, businesses, and institutions make thoughtful decisions over time. He believes investments are tools, and that the right strategy begins with understanding what a client is trying to accomplish. His work is centered on helping clients prepare for complexity and connect their wealth to the people, purposes, and priorities that matter most.
Greg earned a Bachelor of Science in economics and business administration from Trinity University and an MBA from the University of Kansas. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and previously held a Certified Public Accountant license in Texas, which continues to inform his analytical approach.
Greg and his wife, Elizabeth, relocated from the Kansas City area to Wichita in 2026. They have five sons, all of whom earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Their family has a deep connection to the U.S. Service Academies, with two sons attending, an experience that has helped shape Greg’s appreciation for leadership, preparation, and service. Outside of work, Greg enjoys woodworking, running, live music, and staying involved in the Wichita community and broader professional organizations.
